spin up your whole dev workflow.
hit ⌥ space in any project. a glass wheel pops up at your cursor, and every slice hands a task to claude, codex or your terminal. screenshots, launch videos, testflight, code review — one flick away.

three moves. that's it.
zest lives in your menu bar and knows which project you're in. no new IDE, no new chat window, no copy-pasting prompts.
summon it
press ⌥ space in finder or xcode. zest reads the project and loads its wheel — xcode, node, python, whatever.
pick a slice
hover, click, or hit 1–8. slices with "…" open a second ring, like screenshots → iphone · ipad · mac · watch.
let it cook
the job runs in the background with your agent. you get a "served ✦" ping and every log lands in .zest/out.
slices that come built in.
open an xcode project and these are already on the wheel. node and python projects get their own set.
your wheel, your rules.
drop a .zest.yml in any repo. name the slice, pick an icon, pick the agent, write the prompt. commit it and your whole team gets the same wheel.
# crumbs/.zest.yml wheel: - name: launch vid icon: film agent: ghostty run: /brag-slim make a launch video for {name} - name: screenshots children: - name: iphone 6.9" agent: claude run: capture 5 app store screenshots… agents: aider: { command: aider --message "$ZEST_PROMPT" }

zest runs on your own claude, codex or gemini, so there are no servers to pay for — and no subscription.

faq
the stuff people actually ask.
does my code go through zest's servers?
no. zest runs your agents locally on your mac with your own logins. we never see your code, prompts or api keys.
why isn't it on the mac app store?
app store apps live in apple's sandbox, which blocks them from launching tools like claude code, codex or your terminal. that's literally zest's whole job, so it ships direct — signed and notarized by apple, with automatic updates.
what do i need?
macOS 26 or later, plus at least one agent installed — claude code, codex, gemini cli — or just shell commands. ghostty is optional; zest falls back to terminal.
does it only work for ios apps?
nope. xcode projects get app store slices, node gets dev server / deploy / speed check, python gets tests and lint, and anything else gets a general wheel. or write your own.
is it a subscription?
no. pay once, keep it. every 1.x update is included.
